organisers have been shaking up the competitive fitness scene since 2017 with their fitness competition event. The indoor challenge is for professional athletes and all those who want to become one. It’s divided into numerous categories that demand significant physical fitness. You have to complete courses in various areas, which are divided into power, endurance and running segments. For example, the running portion requires you to cover 8,000 metres in total, divided into 8 x 1,000 metre segments. In the aptly named Rox Zones, competitors must complete various workout stations. Exciting, right? You can enter this demanding challenge as an individual or a team. Imagine founding a team that ends up competing against your rival’s team – well, who’s going to get the better time?
YOU WANNA QUIT? NOPE! TRY CROSSFIT!
Like HYROX, CROSSFIT provides a good introduction to the world of performance sports. You’ll also have to perform at a high level and push yourself to the limit to be part of the competitive landscape. With CROSSFIT
, you have to complete a series of activities that require your physical fitness and skill. You’ll have to run, climb ropes and row, among other things. Plus, you’ll lift or carry heavy weights. Training is put into practice during the yearly CROSSFIT GAMES. It’s your chance to demonstrate the gains you’ve made and how strong you are. Similar to HYROX, CROSSFIT is all about the time it takes to complete specific challenges – the quicker, the better. Imagine one day being able to do 100 pull-ups in 10 minutes. Now that’s STRONG.
